Look what we have in our garden at the moment:plums (from our tree), watermelon (from my uncles' fields), grapes (from a cousin's field), figs (from a tree hidden in our olive grove) and cantaloupe melon (grown in Hania).
You really don't need to cook - fruit goes very well with rusks (dry baked bread) and cheese; more than enough on a very hot humid day on a Mediterranean island in the middle of summer!
